Title: Technical Support Technician
Location: Hermiston / Broadman OR
Duration: 6 month contract
Work Authorization Requirements: US Citizen
As a Data Center Technician, you are responsible for diagnosing and resolving server and infrastructure-related hardware issues within a team environment. You will support data center operations by troubleshooting equipment failures, performing hardware maintenance, and collaborating with team members to ensure reliable service delivery. The role requires the ability to work independently on technical issues while following established procedures and security requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic networking knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP (1+ years)
- Familiarity with hardware components inside a server/computer (1+ years)
- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs
- Basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required
Degree or Certification:
- High school or equivalent diploma
- (Optional) CompTIA, CompTIA+
Technical Skills:
- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs
- Understanding of cooling systems and power distribution
- Basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge
- Experience with ticketing systems and documentation
- Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting
Physical Environment and Safety Protocols:
- Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily
- Required to work in data center environments with variable temperature conditions
- Temperature fluctuations dependent on seasonal changes and external weather conditions
- Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles including dust
Physical Requirements:
- Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Standing/walking for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions
- Temperature fluctuations dependent on seasonal changes and external weather conditions
- Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles including dust
- Ability to adapt to varying temperature conditions within the data center environment
- Ability to follow required security protocols including metal detection screening
