We are looking for a motivated Human Subjects Research Assistant II to support research studies focused on human behavior, interaction techniques, and user experiences with emerging technologies.

In this role, you will work closely with a highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers in a lab-based environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting human subjects research, running study protocols, managing confidential participant data, and assisting with research operations.

Responsibilities

  • Stage, set up, and manage equipment and lab spaces used for research studies.
  • Support human subjects experiments, including informed consent collection, protocol execution, confidential data handling, data annotation, and basic reporting.
  • Assist with participant recruiting, scheduling, and study coordination.
  • Conduct literature reviews across a broad range of research topics.
  • Support experimental design, documentation, and provide feedback during study planning.
  • Work closely with researchers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to ensure studies run smoothly.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, organization, and communication in an onsite research environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, computer science, human-computer interaction, engineering, human factors, or a closely related research field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a research environment involving human subjects.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow research protocols accurately and handle confidential data responsibly.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a lab-based research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing research data and/or designing research protocols.
  • Experience collecting user interaction data.
  • Familiarity with technical research equipment such as IMUs, optical sensing systems, EMG, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with computers, research tools, or data annotation workflows.
  • Prior experience supporting behavioral experiments or user studies.
