Summary

Our client is seeking an Project Manager/Estimator / Procurement Manager responsible for developing accurate cost models and managing the material procurement lifecycle for telecommunications projects, including DAS, structured cabling, fiber, ISP, and OSP. This role analyzes technical designs to build comprehensive project budgets, manages Bills of Material (BOMs), and works closely with vendors to secure competitive pricing and ensure timely material delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review iBwave designs, architectural drawings, and site surveys to accurately determine material quantities for DAS, structured cabling, fiber, ISP, and OSP projects.

  • Prepare detailed labor and material estimates to develop complete project budgets, including both hard and soft costs.

  • Manage centralized DAS and RAN Bills of Material (BOMs), ensuring accurate specifications, pricing, and tracking of active and passive components.

  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate quotes from equipment vendors, distributors, and subcontractors to maintain competitive pricing and target margins.

  • Evaluate distribution channels to maximize value and control costs across various market areas.

  • Execute procurement activities, including issuing purchase orders and coordinating material deliveries to align with project schedules.

  • Develop and format pricing models for RFP responses, customer proposals, and bid submissions.

  • Utilize automation, AI, and other technology tools to improve estimating efficiency, reduce errors, and standardize pricing models.

  • Track historical cost data and vendor pricing trends to improve estimating accuracy and identify margin opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of estimating and procurement experience within telecommunications, wireless infrastructure, or commercial electrical construction.

  • Strong understanding of DAS, RAN, structured cabling, fiber, ISP, and OSP network architecture and associated components.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), PDF editing software, and cost modeling tools.

  • Experience with automation, business intelligence, and AI tools is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and RF engineering drawings.

  • Experience performing construction takeoffs using Bluebeam, Procore, or similar software.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple bids and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
