Title: Program Manager III
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager III to build and lead a senior expert fellowship program within an AI research organization. This highly external-facing role will focus on developing strategic relationships with senior experts in academia, healthcare, clinical research, and scientific institutions.
The Program Manager will create the program structure, oversee the complete fellow experience, strengthen the program’s reputation across targeted industries, and help drive the adoption of AI solutions within specialized domains. The role requires close collaboration with research, product, legal, and data operations teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Design, launch, and manage a high-profile fellowship program for senior academic, clinical, and scientific experts.
- Develop the program’s external positioning, reputation, and value proposition across targeted industries.
- Manage relationships with senior fellows, including division chiefs, senior faculty members, clinical leaders, and institutional executives.
- Oversee the full fellowship lifecycle, from candidate identification and early engagement through onboarding and ongoing participation.
- Connect external experts with internal researchers and cross-functional teams.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with universities, research institutions, healthcare organizations, and other external partners.
- Cultivate fellows as advocates who can support the adoption of AI models and research solutions within their professional communities.
- Collaborate with research, product, legal, and data operations teams to ensure successful program execution.
- Establish scalable processes, operating models, and engagement strategies.
- Manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, deadlines, and workstreams in a fast-changing environment.
- Represent the organization professionally in meetings, presentations, and institutional engagements.
- Monitor program execution and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of program or project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling complex programs.
- Experience managing senior external stakeholders, such as executives, senior faculty members, institutional leaders, division chiefs, or clinical leaders.
- Proven success building strategic partnerships across multiple external organizations or institutions.
- Strong relationship-management and influence skills, particularly when working without direct authority.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and manage competing priorities.
- Experience developing processes and operational structures that can scale.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to communicate credibly and professionally with senior domain experts.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work onsite as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in academic relations, university partnerships, fellowship programs, research partnerships, or expert-community programs.
- Experience working within healthcare, clinical research, life sciences, or another regulated or specialized industry.
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning, scientific research, or advanced technology teams.
- Previous experience within an AI research organization.
- Experience launching a new program and expanding it from pilot stage to broader scale.
- Experience representing an organization at academic, scientific, industry, or institutional events.
- Experience managing relationships with universities, hospitals, research centers, or professional associations.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
