Business Analyst – Advanced Data Platform

Who You Are

The Advanced Data Platform (ADP) Business Analyst supports the design and delivery of enterprise data solutions to ensure the right teams have access to the right data at the right time. This role works closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to define data & reporting requirements, document data architecture & system mapping, and ensure accurate and reliable data flows across platforms.

The ADP Business Analyst will help translate business needs into clear technical requirements that support scalable and secure data solutions using platforms such as Databricks, PowerBI, and Salesforce. This role ensures data and reporting plans and roadmaps align with business priorities, enterprise architecture standards, and platform best practices.

What You'll Do

• Gather and document requirements for integration between Databricks and other enterprise systems (Salesforce, PowerBI, etc.)
• Facilitate discovery sessions with business and technical teams to understand business processes, system interactions, data exchange needs, and reporting requirements.
• Translate business objectives into measurable reporting requirements, KPIs, and data definitions.
• Define data flows, transformation logic, field mappings, and reporting requirements
• Document integration requirements including API specifications, pipeline requirements, and data mappings
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to design integration solutions using various technologies including Salesforce APIs, Azure API Management (APIM), REST and event-based integrations
• Assist in defining integration and data-flow patterns
• Ensure integrations align with enterprise security, governance, and data management standards
• Document enterprise data structures, including key tables and relationships, data lineage, pipelines, jobs, business definitions, and reporting assets.
• Partner with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams to support backlog refinement and prioritization for data initiatives.
• Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria defining data mappings and table/job/report requirements
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
• Documentation & Governance
• Support change management by communicating key releases to stakeholders and leadership

What You'll Need

• Experience working as a Business Analyst supporting a technical or data engineering team
• Strong understanding of data architecture, storage, movement, and transformation concepts
• Experience documenting business and technical requirements, system interactions, data lineage, and process flows
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams
• Experience documenting business process flows using tools such as Figma, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar diagramming platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
• Experience querying and analyzing data using SQL, SOQL, R, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with databases and/or data lakes (eg- Databricks) and data governance principles
• Familiarity with Data Visualization concepts and/or experience with Tableau or PowerBI
• Familiarity with Salesforce solutions and/or data mapping across platforms
