Location: Houston, Texas
Duration: Permanent
Compensation: $115,000 – $125,000
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
 
Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage purchasing and assortment decisions within the Marine & Boating category. This role will analyze sales and inventory data, develop product assortments, manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and collaborate with sourcing, merchandising, eCommerce, and planning teams to drive sales and achieve business goals.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Manage the Marine & Boating product categories
• Analyze sales, inventory, market trends, and financial data
• Develop assortment, pricing, promotional, and sourcing strategies
• Build and negotiate relationships with vendors/suppliers
• Partner with merchandising, eCommerce, sourcing, and planning teams
• Manage multiple initiatives and product lifecycles
• Mentor/support Assistant Buyers and other team members
• Travel occasionally (up to 15%)

 
Qualifications:

• 5+ years of retail or customer service experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
• Skill in managing multiple categories in a fast paced environment
• Experience mentoring or coaching others
• Ability to develop strong vendor relationships
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• A team-first attitude; while your core duties are your priority, you're happy to step in wherever you're needed

 
Work Style and Physical Requirements

• Up to 15% travel including domestic and international trips
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Regular in-office attendance is required
• Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
• Ability to adhere to company policies and professional standards
