Title: Workday Student Data Integration and EDW Technical Lead
Location: Remote
Duration: 8+ months
Compensation: $90-110/hour
Work Requirements: U.S. Citizen, GC Holders, or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

The Workday Student Data Integration & EDW Technical Lead will lead the technical planning and design for bringing Workday Student data into the enterprise data warehouse to support Power BI and broader institutional reporting and analytics.
The resource will work with the Workday Student and Data & Analytics teams to define the technical approach, identify and prioritize required data, document requirements, establish the architecture and data design, and develop an implementation plan that can be transitioned to the internal team for delivery.
Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the approach, set the timeline and provide guidance for a team of six, for the integration of Workday Student data into the enterprise data warehouse using a mix of SOAP APIs and RaaS.

• Develop a prioritized implementation roadmap and technical backlog.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership during initial design and implementation.

• Lead technical architecture including specifications document design of transformations for data ingestion, modeling, into Enterprise Data Warehouse to be used for mirroring or pipelining into Microsoft Fabric for eventual Power BI consumption.

• Gather and document data and technical requirements for identified priority reporting and analytics needs.

• Identify and prioritize Workday Student data domains and datasets for integration. Note: Workday will primarily be Workday Student data, but some data will be FIN or HCM data coming from Workday Platform. 

• Align the solution with the broader Data Modernization architecture and standards.

• Identify technical dependencies, gaps, and decisions needed to move forward.

• Document the solution and transfer knowledge to the internal Data & Analytics team.

Desired Skills & Experience
Required

• Strong experience in enterprise data architecture, data warehousing, and analytics.

• An understanding of the models and structure of Workday data

• Experience leading data integration and hands-on involvement in data modeling efforts.

• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, SQL, data modeling, data quality, and governance.

• Experience designing data solutions that support Power BI reporting.

• Ability to translate business reporting needs into technical requirements and architecture.

• Ability to lead technical work across multiple teams and produce clear, implementation-ready documentation.

Preferred

• Workday Student data, reporting, or integration experience.

• Experience integrating Workday data with enterprise data platforms.

• Higher education/student enrollment data experience.

• Experience with Microsoft data and analytics technologies.

• Experience supporting data modernization or enterprise analytics initiatives.
