Title: Construction Project Manager
Location: NYC
Duration: Direct hire
Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US
- Location – Metro NY – candidates should be in Northern NJ, Western Long Island, Southern CT or in the 5 boroughs. No relocation is offered AT THIS TIME.
- Highlighted skills – C suite conversationalist, understanding of project P&L and experience running teams or large projects, organizational skills a must, experience with Mechanical/ Electrical Systems and/ or Energy Performance Contracts, use of MS Projects and high level excel user.
- Position supported by: Construction Managers, Site Supervisors and Administrative Support. Understanding of how government businesses or Housing authorities is a plus.
- Sustainable Infrastructure business on this project acts like a General Contractor working with multiple subcontractors with different specialties to execute the work.

- Compensation – Salary, STI (short term incentive), company non-decaled vehicle and a robust benefit package.
What you will do:
Responsible for sales team and engineering team support, project delivery, estimating, and financial management for the project portfolio within the Area team. Responsible for projects within the local geography as assigned by AGM, determining resource levels to attain schedule milestones and monitors workforce levels to ensure conformance with the construction plan. Controls change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work. Assists in implementing the site safety and security procedures and project work rules and plays an active role in the development of the project execution plan. Strategizes and collaborates with the Sales and Engineering, within the Area team, to secure customer facing contracts. Develops and maintains Customer and Subcontractor relationships.
External Relationship:
The Project Executive is actively involved in the local contracting community, industry organizations, and networks with local subcontractors. Responsible for maintaining high customer satisfaction for projects during the sales and execution phases.
Internal Relationships:
- Works collaboratively with the Area Team members to establish and maintain local market dominance.
- Assists the Area Installation Manager to effectively plan for future resource needs and assists in allocating resource needs to meet near term commitments.
- Assesses development needs and works with the Area Installation Manager to assign Construction Managers, as needed, to provide sales support activities early in the audit process to provide input on vendor/partners selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment etc.
- Assesses Project execution needs and works with the Area Installation Manager to assign Construction Managers, as needed, to area projects.
- Assists the Area General Manager in the preparation of the annual financial operating plan for the projects business.
- Assists the Area General Manager in ensuring Area fiscal year plans are met.
- Assists the Area General Manager in the monthly financial reporting of the Area.
How you will do it:
- Self-performs sales support activities early in the audit process to provide input on vendor/partners selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment etc.
- Self-performs cost estimating, project scheduling and construction management of projects secured by the area team where applicable.
- Manages the profitable execution of the Area team's project portfolio. Ensures that all projects are done accurately, on-time, billed, within budget and within scope of the contract. Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow within the area.
- Understands project scope and customer expectations. Utilizes resource planning techniques to gain high productivity from team members.
- Plans, schedules and controls project activities. Broad knowledge of commercial/contractual complexity/deal structure/financial acumen/disciplines of supply chain…negotiation skills…communication skills…c-level relationships
- Provides monthly reporting of Area team's financial status and participates in the Area General Manager's monthly operations reviews.
- Oversees FIMs, Multiple FIMs, Innovative/renewable FIMs.
- Established long term customer and contractor relationships. Influences customer.
- Ensures that Construction Managers develop and adhere to a Project Execution Plan / Safety Plan for each assigned project.
- Determines when resources will be needed from the Area resource pool.
- Determines the duration construction resources will be assigned to the projects.
- Establishes customer touch points throughout the life cycle of projects to gain feedback on customer satisfaction. Coaches' teams on proactively addressing customer feedback.
- Provides leadership by demonstrating focus on exceeding customers' expectations.
- Effectively communicates the status of projects to Area General Manager as required and provides monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin for the PC execution.
- Fosters and maintains good working relationships with subcontractors.
- Fosters and maintains good working relationships with internal Systems, Service and Lighting partners.
- Ensures compliance with state, local and federal legal requirements
- Ensures the Performance Infrastructure business is conducted with the highest ethical standards.
- Champions and drives the SSA Safety Program for employees and subcontractors at all levels within the Installation organization and subcontractors.
PRODUCTIVITY MEASURMENTS:
The Project Executive is responsible for the executed margin for all assigned projects in their portfolio.

- Project cash flow
- Timely Project completion
What we look for:
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience. Ten or more years of progressively more responsible operations management experience in the Installation Industry including five or more years of direct management experience. High-level competence in written and verbal communication. Strong presentation skills and proficiency in speaking to large audiences. Able to lead and direct cross-functional and cross-business unit project teams to achieve business results. Ability to lead, manage, mentor and inspire others. Knowledge of multiple levels with the supply chain org. Polished presentation skills, multi-faceted thinker, innovator. Strong ability to negotiate, persuade and influence. Proficient in software scheduling tools and applications. High level project management process competencies. Strong proficiency in MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Visio, MS Project, basic Microsoft environment and internet business application usage.
