Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and technically proficient Global Commodity Manager with a focus on Metallics to join our team in Redmond, WA. This 12+ month contract position offers potential for domestic travel. As the primary liaison between the company and its suppliers, you will drive the sourcing and procurement of metallic components, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, cost-effectiveness, and supply chain continuity. You will streamline communication and act as the key point of contact for suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its suppliers for metallic components, consolidating all communication and processes for efficiency.
- Negotiate and manage long-term agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and aligned strategic objectives.
- Oversee the purchase order intake process, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Develop and track key delivery and performance metrics to ensure the highest standards for quality, cost, and timeliness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of metallic component requirements in product development and manufacturing.
- Provide technical expertise related to metallics, ensuring that suppliers meet the required specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with engineering and technical teams to resolve any supply chain or technical issues with metallic components.
- Travel domestically as required to build and maintain supplier relationships and monitor global market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or relevant industry experience.
- Strong background in metallic materials, fabrication processes, or mechanical systems, with a solid understanding of the related supply chain and procurement processes.
- Experience in commodity management, procurement, or supply chain, with a focus on metallic components or related technologies.
- Proven experience negotiating long-term agreements and managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to consolidate and streamline processes, acting as the single point of contact for suppliers and ensuring smooth operations.
- Excellent analytical skills to track performance metrics, forecast trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
