Title: Senior Network Administrator

Location: Remote – Must be physically located in Dallas, TX

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; ability to pass enhanced Public Trust screening (criminal, financial, drug)

Duration: Ongoing Contract

Target Rate: $8,500/month 


Position Summary

Seeking a seasoned Senior Network Administrator with strong experience in network engineering and administration. Ideal candidates will have a background in supporting and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. This is a hands-on role requiring after-hours availability for maintenance and incident response.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and support of technical infrastructure solutions

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve network incidents to ensure business continuity

  • Participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and off-hours maintenance windows

  • Conduct preventative measures to minimize future network incidents

  • Audit network devices to ensure compliance with internal policies and external audit standards

  • Manage change requests and perform network upgrades per formal change management procedures

  • Maintain and update documentation in line with ITIL standards


Required Technical Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure

  • Expertise in F5 LTM load balancers: configuration, installation, upgrade, and administration

  • Hands-on experience with Checkpoint and Juniper firewalls

  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS routers, Cisco IOS, and Nexus OS switches

  • Proficient in analyzing and troubleshooting network traffic between systems

  • Deep understanding of protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VLAN, and TCP/IP

  • Scripting capabilities in Perl, Python, or Bash for network automation

  • Proven ability to create detailed process documentation and user guides


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network administration

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in matrixed, remote teams

  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
