Maintenance Manager / Technical Services Manager – Electro-Mechanical background
Summary
This leadership role is critical to driving plant performance, asset reliability, and maintenance excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, team leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce all safety protocols within the maintenance department.
- Oversee day-to-day mechanical and electrical maintenance operations.
- Develop, train, and manage maintenance staff with a focus on upskilling.
- Manage departmental budgets and reduce plant maintenance costs.
- Plan and supervise capital improvement projects and annual maintenance planning.
- Direct troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance for complex systems.
- Manage vendor contracts, including mobile equipment outsourcing.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct ongoing inspections of plant equipment and systems to ensure reliability.
- Provide labor-related guidance including staffing, scheduling, and employee relations.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 7–10 years of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing maintenance leadership role.
- Proven experience with high and low-voltage systems, motor control, automation, and PLCs.
- Strong project management capabilities and budget oversight experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team development skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and preventative maintenance programs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Leadership of 1-2 years exp (current team size is 3 )
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Background in mining or aggregates industry.
- Hands-on experience with ERP software such as SAP or DataStream.
- Knowledge of design/planning tools like AutoCAD, AGGFlow, and mine scheduling software.
- Experience managing union or contract labor teams.
