Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented Project Manager to lead a SharePoint Online migration for a global banking institution. This role will oversee the end-to-end planning, communication, execution, and risk management of the migration from legacy SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online (SPO) as part of the organization's digital workplace modernization initiative.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading SharePoint or Microsoft 365 (M365) migrations in large, complex, and regulated enterprise environments, with strong stakeholder management skills and a proactive, delivery-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary day-to-day project liaison between the client and Affinity delivery teams

Lead the full project lifecycle of the SharePoint Online migration, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure

Own and manage the project plan, ensuring alignment with business timelines, resource allocation, and delivery goals

Drive all project communications including status reporting, documentation, and escalation management

Facilitate and lead all key meetings including project kick-off, status updates, working sessions, and stakeholder briefings

Oversee the production of all project deliverables: requirements documents, test plans, migration scripts, change requests, etc.

Ensure adherence to defined scope, timeline, budget, and risk mitigation protocols

Manage Change Control process including change request documentation and approvals

Monitor and manage technical implementation progress, identifying blockers and ensuring successful execution of specifications

Provide ongoing risk and impact assessments, proposing mitigation strategies as needed
Qualifications:
-
7+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading large-scale IT or infrastructure initiatives

Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Online or Microsoft 365 migrations in global or regulated enterprises

Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, site structures, content types, metadata, and permissions models

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet) and status reporting frameworks

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with IT, compliance, legal, and business teams

Proven experience with change management and change control procedures

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work with third-party vendors, consultants, and internal delivery groups
Preferred Experience:
-
Experience in financial services or global banking

Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and Microsoft Purview (compliance and retention policies)

PMP or PRINCE2 certification

Knowledge of compliance and data governance considerations in Microsoft 365 environments
