DevOps Engineer
ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY
The DevOps Engineer will join the Ads Engineering team to deliver a modular, container-based test automation framework supporting Java microservices across AWS infrastructure. This role is critical to building out seamless CI/CD integrations, test orchestration layers, and infrastructure provisioning workflows, enabling rapid and reliable feedback loops during development. It also emphasizes pipeline feedback, mocking support, test reliability, and infrastructure scalability—all to promote shift-left testing and environment consistency.
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
- Integrate unit, component, integration, and e2e tests into CI/CD workflows
- Automate provisioning of infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Build and manage ephemeral environments using Docker Compose, ECS, or EKS
- Support automated mocking and service virtualization during test execution
- Implement fail-fast logic, Slack alerts, and pull request feedback mechanisms
- Integrate static analysis tools, security scans, and code coverage into the CI/CD flow
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to surface test results and environment metadata
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- 5+ years of DevOps Engineering experience, specifically with CI/CD tools, such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and AWS CodePipeline
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Experience Integrating Code Quality Gates such as static analysis, security scanning, and coverage reporting
NICE TO HAVES
- Familiarity with testing frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, or Spock
- Experience with mocking tools like WireMock and TestContainers within CI pipelines
- Understanding of Kafka test patterns and schema validation workflows
- Exposure to observability platforms such as Grafana and Prometheus
- Strong experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes)
- Comfortable integrating end-to-end testing automation into pipelines
- Familiarity with AWS services including EC2, S3, and IAM
- Collaborative mindset and experience working with cross-functional teams including QA, backend, and platform engineering
- Background in building tools that support test stability, performance, and developer experience
