Description:
Studios' Business Platforms and Services team is seeking a Product
Owner. On our team, you will be responsible for acting as the liaison between our
business partners and Studio Technology team. You will become the subject matter
expert for applications you are working on and recommend solutions to ensure business
needs are met. This Product Owner will leverage their strong background & affinity for
product ownership, stakeholder management, business analysis, and development to
successfully manage products and create a lasting impact.
The Role:
As the Product Owner of Studio Rights, you will lead the evolution of a high-impact
internal tool that allows our Legal team to effectively manage talent contracts and
provide counsel for all legal matters associated with our titles. Studio Rights
streamlines what was once a highly manual, time-consuming process, enabling a wide
range of users to efficiently input, distribute, and consume critical legal information. This
tool is a critical application within StudioONE, which is our suite of custom-built tools
that help ensure that all Studios titles are produced on-time and on-budget.
In this role, you'll work closely with a talented engineering team to translate complex
business needs into innovative, scalable product solutions. You'll synthesize input from
a wide range of stakeholders, manage a dynamic backlog, and create impactful product
documentation – all while ensuring alignment with the broader Studio Technology
organization's vision and strategic goals.
Your Responsibilities:
Serve as the Product lead and subject matter expert for Studio Rights
Lead the product vision and translate it into actionable roadmaps, milestones,
features, and a backlog of user stories
Write clear, actionable user stories, lead refinement sessions with project
management, and maintain a well-organized and prioritized product backlog
Provide well-structured product documentation that enables the team to
confidently and efficiently build new features
Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team – including engineering, design,
and data teams – to define features, drive continuous progress, and deliver
high-impact results aligned with product goals
Facilitate requirement gathering sessions to deeply understand business
processes and user needs
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent or equivalent practical experience
Minimum of 2 years product management experience with a proven record of
successfully launching products or features
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex requirements into clear user stories,
PRDs, and additional documentation
Experience leveraging data and analytics to inform product decisions and track
success metrics
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple
tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proactive self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and takes initiative to drive
outcomes independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative work ethic
Experience working with cross-functional teams across the full product lifecycle
Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building internal tools or B2B software products
Experience working with legal teams and/or the entertainment industry
Required Education:
BS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years
