Title: Junior Network Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL- Orlando
Duration: 12 Month Contract to Hire
Compensation: $30-$35/hr
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US

Junior Network Engineer
 
Day to Day:

  • In this role, you'll help keep our network running smoothly by installing and maintaining hardware and software, monitoring performance, and resolving issues quickly.

  • You'll play an active role in security initiatives, support upgrades and new deployments, and document configurations to keep processes clear and consistent.

  • The position also involves working with IP-based security systems, tracking licenses, and staying up to date on the latest networking technologies.

  • From troubleshooting calls to the occasional overnight maintenance, you'll be a key part of ensuring reliable, secure network operations.

 
Skillset / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SASE and VPN.

  • Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and rack/unrack networking equipment as needed.

  • Ability to use ladders or lifts safely to access elevated devices (e.g., access points, antennas, satcom dishes).

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to support critical maintenance windows and incident response.

  • Ability to travel to stations or offices as project needs dictate

 
Nice to Have:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent.

  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, or Palo Alto equipment.

  • Exposure to SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and practices.

  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools and software such as Zabbix, Nagios.

  • Understanding of compliance standards such as ISO 27001 or NIST.
