Duration: 6-month contract hire

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Asset Manager to lead and enhance our global asset management strategy. This role will focus on Software Asset Management (SAM), ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency. We have recently transitioned from Flexera to ServiceNow SAMPro. This individual will play a pivotal role in upgrading our software asset management processes and capabilities. Candidates must have global SAM expertise and a deep understanding of licensing servers, asset lifecycle management, software catalog management, and rationalization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage IT Software Asset Management strategies on a global scale.
  • Support finalization of the transition of data from Flexera to ServiceNow SAMPro for software asset management, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
  • Ensure accuracy in asset configuration and mapping.
  • Optimize and manage global software licensing, including Microsoft Volume Licensing, Adobe, Oracle, and engineering tools such as Autodesk.
  • Develop and maintain audit compliance programs to meet industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Establish and enforce contract management best practices, including renewals and compliance monitoring.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with IT, Finance, Procurement, and AECOM’s global Business Units to align IT asset strategies with corporate objectives.
  • Analyze IT asset data to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop KPIs, reporting mechanisms, and governance structures for effective asset lifecycle management.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT Asset Management with at least 5 of those being in Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Proven experience with ServiceNow SAMPro is a mandatory requirement. Please do not apply if you don't have SAM Pro experience (exposure to SAM Pro is not sufficient)
  • MUST have deep CMDB knowledge and CMDB management experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models, compliance, and optimization for major vendors like Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and Autodesk, among others.
  • Experience managing large-scale IT asset portfolios in a global enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in contract management and audit compliance.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills to drive asset optimization strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Experience in leading ITAM teams and ability to grow into more senior Asset Management roles.
  • Knowledge of financial planning and budgeting related to IT asset management.
  • Ability to both think strategically on how to advance our SAM capabilities and provide hands-on management of our software assets, while leading a technical team that will take direction from you

Strongly Preferred:

  • Senior-level expertise in global IT Asset Management (ITAM)
  • Senior-level experience with Hardware Asset Management (HAM).
  • ITIL, IAITAM, or ServiceNow ITAM certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Senior-level experience in cloud asset management.
