Location: Remote US (CST / EST time zone)
Duration: 6+ months Contract / Consulting
Rate: $35-47/hr.
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holder, or authorized to work in the U.S.
Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior Project Manager to support a large-scale AWS-to-AWS cloud migration initiative. This role will focus on coordinating the migration of VPCs across AWS accounts, ensuring schedules, deliverables, and communications are properly managed. The Junior PM will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and stakeholders to keep the project on track.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with project coordination or IT project management experience who is looking to deepen their expertise in cloud infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and tracking project deliverables, timelines, and milestones for AWS VPC migration activities.
- Coordinate with cloud engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure tasks are executed as scheduled.
- Document migration plans, status updates, risks, and lessons learned.
- Support issue tracking, escalation, and resolution during migrations.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, including stand-ups, status reports, and retrospectives.
- Help ensure compliance with project governance, reporting, and security requirements.
Critical Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings
- Coordinate the accounts to be moved
- Facilitate monthly executive reviews
- Maintain effective communication between technical teams, leadership, and external partners.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in IT project coordination or project management (infrastructure or cloud projects a plus).
- Familiarity with cloud concepts, preferably AWS.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and manage shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to AWS networking concepts (VPCs, gateways, firewalls, security groups).
- Any knowledge of AWS GovCloud environments or regulated workloads.
- PMP, CAPM, or Agile/Scrum certification (or working toward one).
- Previous experience coordinating cloud migration, data center, or infrastructure projects.
