Title: Lead  Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL 
Duration: Contract to hire
Compensation: $55-59/hour

Summary

Performs moderately complex design and development efforts of the facility Building Management System (BMS) to provide increased reliability, increased efficiency, and operational improvements. Duties will include monitoring Building Management System (BMS) performance, updating the system site-wide to ensure proper system operation, and modifying system as required to align with corporate sustainability initiatives.

  • Implements solutions and performs design and/or programming modifications to EMS system equipment on assigned projects to include HVAC Systems, Lighting Control Systems, Aquatic/Pool Systems, and Solar Systems to provide proper control, reliability, and energy efficiency of control systems.        
  • Manages assigned projects from design through installation to include project schedules, testing, training and budget demands.        
  • Prepares scope of work documents for facility engineering projects. Develops and conducts Acceptance Test Procedures on control systems modifications, generation of maintenance procedures and manual updates. Prepares and conducts maintenance training on controls equipment.        
  • Interfaces with Technical Services supervisors and managers to resolve EMS/Control system issues.
  • Coordinates engineering activities between Utility supervisors, project stakeholders, and Tech Services BMS Team Members.         
  • Monitors and interfaces with vendors/contractors to resolve problems and design issues. Prepares and reviews equipment specifications and performs technical evaluation of vendor products/services.        
  • Performs engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of BMS.  
  • Provides project status of assigned task list items to senior level leaders, Utility Mangers and/or project stakeholders on a regular basis.         
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering is required. 

Certifications/licenses 

  • A valid Florida Drivers' License is required to operate company vehicles.
  • Niagara AX Technical Certification (Preferred), Johnson Control Metasys (Preferred), Honeywell or any other Direct Digital Control (DDC) System (Preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 5-years demonstrated project engineering experience in an engineering environment for the development and maintenance of Building Management System in a theme park, industrial, or healthcare environment required. 

Required Skills  

  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC control systems. 
  • Extensive knowledge of lighting control systems.
  • Ability to write control sequences of operation and create BMS control graphics/diagrams. 
  • Analytical skills to perform engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of control systems. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide control system management.

Preferred Skills     

  • Knowledge of solar control systems.
  • Knowledge of aquatic control systems.
  • Proven experience with Niagara Tridium building control, software, and devices.
