About the Role:
We are seeking a PCB Design Engineer who can take full ownership of printed circuit board designs — from stackup through layout — with minimal input from electrical engineers. This is not just a tool-based layout role; we are looking for someone who combines strong PCB design skills with solid electrical engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end PCB design, including stackup definition, materials, and copper allocation.
  • Design with proper signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability in mind.
  • Calculate and apply correct trace impedance for both single-ended and differential signals.
  • Select and implement appropriate via types (standard, blind/buried, microvias) based on design needs.
  • Apply backdrilling techniques where needed to improve high-speed signal performance.
  • Ensure minimum copper area and trace widths meet current-carrying requirements.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure functional and reliable designs.
  • Deliver production-ready PCB layouts and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience designing complex, multi-layer PCBs from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB materials, stackups, and copper design.
  • Experience with trace impedance calculation (single-ended & differential).
  • Deep understanding of vias (construction, blind/buried, microvias) and backdrilling practices.
  • Ability to design for current requirements (minimum copper area, trace width).
  • Proficiency in modern PCB CAD tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Mentor Xpedition).
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with minimal guidance.

Preferred:

  • Experience with high-speed digital, RF, or aerospace/defense PCB design.
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes and DFM/DFT best practices.

Our benefits package includes:

  • Comprehensive medical benefits
  • Competitive pay
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • …and much more!
