Job Title: Network Automation Engineer
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6-12 months + contract
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

The Network Engineer focused on Alibaba Cloud designs, deploys, and supports cloud networking infrastructures across Aliyun's global and mainland China regions. This role ensures high performance connectivity, secure network architectures, and efficient integrations with enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud network environments within Alibaba Cloud, including VPCs, VSwitches, SLB, CEN, and Express Connect.
• Design and support hybrid networking using Alibaba Cloud's global backbone and China mainland connectivity services.
• Configure and optimize routing, security groups, firewalls, and traffic engineering policies across multi region environments.
• Implement monitoring and visibility tools for network performance, security, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot latency, routing, DNAT/SNAT, and private link issues within Aliyun infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cloud, DevOps, and application teams to ensure cloud architectures are secure, compliant, and aligned with business needs.
• Maintain documentation of network standards, diagrams, and operational playbooks.
• Stay current on Alibaba Cloud platform updates, service improvements, and China specific networking constraints.

Preferred Skills

• Hands on experience with Alibaba Cloud networking services and global networking concepts.
• Strong understanding of routing (BGP/OSPF), firewalls, load balancing, and WAN technologies.
• Experience with cross cloud or multi cloud architectures (Alibaba Cloud + AWS, Azure, or Tencent).
• Ability to build scalable and secure enterprise network architectures across distributed systems.
