This means providing a clean and fresh space for your employees to learn, collaborate and work productively. A work environment that’s disorganized, noisy or full of dysfunction is sure to contribute to employees’ stress and create unnecessary anxiety. You can make your work environment welcoming with greenery, fresh flowers and attractive artwork. Maintaining a workplace that is aesthetically pleasing and promotes collaboration can make a big difference in reducing employees’ stress levels.

Allow flexible work schedules.

By offering flexible hours or allowing employees to work remotely when possible, giving employees the opportunity to manage their schedules on their terms will relieve them of workplace pressures that could potentially interfere with their personal commitments. Giving employees the power to set their own hours and balance their work commitments with family responsibilities will enable them to create a schedule that works best for them, helping to keep stress levels low.

Encourage breaks.

It’s very difficult for most people to function at their fullest potential without taking occasional breaks. Taking breaks throughout the day increases mental clarity and improves overall health, both important to alleviating stress. Remind your employees to take 20-minute breaks by taking a short walk or grabbing a snack. Encouraging intermittent breaks throughout the workday will increase your employees’ productivity levels and decrease feelings of stress and anxiety.
