ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY
Our client is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join a team responsible for building the internal applications that power Data Services operations. This team owns the full software development lifecycle—from backend services and APIs to frontend user interfaces—and is focused on modernizing legacy applications while developing new internal platforms from the ground up.
The primary initiative is building and enhancing a self-service database management portal that enables employees to manage database operations more efficiently. Approximately 80% of the work is greenfield development creating new applications, while 20% is focused on maintaining and modernizing existing systems. This is an internal-facing engineering role where you’ll work across the entire application stack and collaborate with global engineering teams.
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
As a Full Stack Engineer, you’ll own the end-to-end development of internal business applications that improve the productivity of Data Services teams. You’ll build scalable backend services, develop REST APIs, contribute to modern React-based user interfaces, and help migrate legacy applications to modern technologies.
This team values strong software engineering fundamentals over expertise in one specific programming language. If you have solid programming concepts and can quickly adapt to new technologies, you’ll have the opportunity to work with Python, Golang, React, Oracle/PostgreSQL, and modern CI/CD practices while contributing to highly visible internal platforms.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (Top 3 Must-Haves)
1. Strong Backend Development & REST API Experience (70% Backend)
- 5 years of software engineering experience building scalable backend applications.
- Hands-on experience developing REST APIs using Golang or Python (strong programming fundamentals are more important than a specific language).
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend services from concept through production.
2. Full Stack Development with Modern Frontend Technologies (30% Frontend)
- Experience building modern single-page applications (SPAs) using React or another modern JavaScript framework.
- Comfortable working across the full application stack, including backend services, API integration, and frontend UI development.
- Experience building new applications while modernizing or migrating legacy technology stacks.
3. Database Development & Software Delivery
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment processes, and GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Understanding of software development best practices including version control, testing, and deployment automation.
