Celebrate Diversity Month

“We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.” ― Dr. Maya Angelou

As Dr. Angelou so eloquently put it, we are all part of a tapestry with a rich and diverse history. This April, we encourage you to come together in honor of Celebrate Diversity Month and consider the various ways diversity unites people from many different backgrounds as we work toward common goals.

Celebrate Diversity Month was established in 2004 to encourage people to work toward understanding other cultures and learn about the advantages of creating a diverse workforce. When people from many different backgrounds are included in leadership, projects, and business decisions, they can offer unique perspectives and experience, which in turn can help organizations make better choices. This can have a profound impact on all aspects of a business, including its employees, clients, customers, vendors, and the bottom line.

On a more personal level, Celebrate Diversity Month is meant to get people thinking about what makes each of us different and embracing those traits by learning about one another. By having more empathy and understanding, we can become better people and build a bright future together.
