Human Rights Day

December 10th is the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a groundbreaking document set forth by the U.N. General Assembly to enshrine the inalienable rights of every person. Because of this landmark declaration, the entire month of December is recognized as Universal Human Rights Month.

This year’s theme is “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now” to recognize the importance and relevance of human rights and inspire people to take action to preserve and enhance human rights worldwide. Our world has faced many challenges over the past few years, so it’s more important than ever that we come together and work toward achieving human rights for everyone.

Now, what can you do to stand up for human rights? Start by educating yourself on current issues, ensure that you are giving space and listening to other people and their viewpoints, strive to uphold our rights and the rights of others, and work toward a more sustainable, just, and prosperous world.

Check out the resources below to learn more about how you can celebrate Human Rights Day, take action, and spread awareness. Together, we can work toward a brighter future for all people.
