Lead Product Experience Strategist

Role Details
- Contractor role with potential conversion to full-time (FTE)
- Requires travel for field research and stakeholder engagement
- Location: Charlotte, NC
- Hybrid expectation: 3 days per week in office

What You'll Do
Drive decision quality
- Understand end-to-end operational workflows (people, process, systems)
- Identify inefficiencies, workarounds, and failure points
- Quantify impact (time, cost, errors, risk)
- Inform what to build, change, or stop
Shape differentiated solutions
- Identify where we can be meaningfully better—not just equivalent
- Translate insights into clear product and experience direction
- Contribute to build vs buy through workflow and data impact
Influence upstream
- Partner early with Product and Engineering
- Challenge assumptions with evidence before development begins
Define and validate direction
- Create future-state workflows and testable concepts
- Ensure solutions improve efficiency and scale

- Better decisions made before build
- Reduced wasted development
- Measurable gains in efficiency and accuracy
- Clear differentiation in how work is done

Who You Are
- Strong in operational workflow analysis (beyond UI)
- Research + business thinker (not just methods)
- Comfortable influencing without authority
- 7–10+ years in product, UX, or strategy in complex environments (healthcare a plus)
- Proven ability to influence decisions upstream (not just deliver design)
- Preventing or reshaping product decisions based on insights
- Identifying high-impact workflow issues others missed
- Driving measurable improvements (time saved, errors reduced, cost avoided)
- Ability to clearly articulate before/after impact and business outcomes—not just outputs
