Compensation: $80.00–$90.00/hr + per diem if applicable

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support onsite construction, commissioning, and turnover of data center fit-out projects within leased facilities. This role will support retrofit work in existing data halls as well as new build-outs across a leased data center portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing construction execution, contractor coordination, schedule/cost controls, commissioning readiness, MOPs, project closeout, and stakeholder communication across mission-critical or data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage onsite construction activities for leased data center fit-out, retrofit, and build-out projects.

Support the Lead Construction Manager with contractor, designer, vendor, landlord, and consultant management.

Own construction scope execution across existing live data halls and new spaces within leased facilities.

Coordinate between contractors, landlords, consultants, vendors, internal partners, and cross-functional teams.

Lead site walks, WIP walks, progress reviews, and handover readiness checks.

Support project planning, scoping, sequencing, and work packaging with internal stakeholders.

Partner with Project Controls and Scheduling teams to maintain project schedules and track critical milestones.

Manage schedule risks, project delays, mitigation plans, and upward reporting.

Support cost change management, pricing negotiations, CapEx forecasting, ROM estimates, and project budget tracking.

Manage Method of Procedures for retrofit or remedy work in live data center environments.

Coordinate interaction between contractors, internal teams, and third-party QA/QC teams.

Review weekly project status reports covering financials, schedule, quality, and construction progress.

Drive project closeout, turnover documentation, and final handover.

Escalate key risks and issues quickly to leadership.

Promote a strong safety culture, continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability.

Required Qualifications

7–10 years of construction, operations, maintenance, project planning, or related experience.

Experience supporting data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, critical facilities, or large-scale technical construction projects.

General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and connectivity systems.

Experience managing multiple projects at once across different phases of execution.

Ability to manage contractor performance, site progress, schedule, cost, and quality expectations.

Experience supporting commissioning, turnover, or closeout of retrofit or new build-out projects.

Strong communication skills with contractors, landlords, consultants, vendors, and internal partners.

Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to travel approximately 50% to project sites across North America.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Direct experience with leased data center facilities.

Experience managing projects ranging from approximately $600K to $100M.

Knowledge of CPM scheduling practices.

Familiarity with Primavera P6.

Experience managing MOPs in live data center or critical facility environments.

Experience with CapEx forecasting, change management, WIP validation, and ROM estimating.
