We are seeking a strong AI Engineer to join a leading AI research and engineering team focused on advancing multimodal AI systems. This role will help build the data engines, evaluation platforms, and internal tools that support frontier multimodal large language models.

The AI Engineer will work with large-scale image, video, audio, and text data to transform raw datasets into high-fidelity benchmarks used for model training, evaluation, and improvement. This role requires a strong mix of machine learning, data engineering, model evaluation, and software engineering experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Design human-labeled and model-based datasets for training and evaluating multimodal large language models, including image, video, audio, and text data.
• Run frontier model evaluations and implement common evaluation metrics.
• Use multimodal large language models to bootstrap, augment, rebalance, and improve datasets.
• Fine-tune models using labeled datasets.
• Build annotation task UIs and data-heavy internal tools using React and TypeScript.
• Develop and maintain secure data ingestion pipelines from data warehouses, warm-storage systems, and flat files at scale.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders.
• Help translate AI research into scalable systems and tools that support real-world product applications.

Required skills and experience:

• Strong experience in AI, machine learning, or deep learning engineering.
• Hands-on experience with large language models or multimodal large language models.
• Experience designing, curating, or evaluating datasets for ML model training and evaluation.
• Experience implementing model evaluation workflows, benchmarks, and metrics.
• Experience with fine-tuning models on labeled datasets.
• Strong programming skills, ideally in Python.
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines, ingestion workflows, or data processing systems.
• Experience building internal tools, annotation platforms, or data-heavy applications.
• Frontend development experience with React and TypeScript.
• Ability to work with multimodal data, including image, video, audio, and text.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in research-heavy or engineering-focused environments.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar ML frameworks.
• Experience with AI research, research engineering, or ML infrastructure.
• Experience supporting annotation workflows or human-in-the-loop data systems.
• Experience with secure data handling and scalable storage systems.
• Experience working with frontier AI models, model evaluation platforms, or benchmark development.
