Mechanical Engineer
3+ month contract with possible extension 
$60/hr on W2

ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

This role will support the program through design validation, into production. You will develop, design, analyze, and implement custom tooling and equipment required for assembling and testing. You will need to convert the requests from various teams into systems that are easy to use, cost effective, and accurate. In addition, you will be responsible for project management, cost estimate and scheduling. You will manage and support fabrication, testing and commissioning of the tooling into manufacturing.

This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you'll work with leaders in multiple technology areas. You'll have relentlessly high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you'll be constantly looking for ways to improve your product's performance, quality and cost. THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU   
– Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or relevant experience
– 3+ years of experience with CAD Design of complex systems including 3D modeling, drawings, and GD&T
– 1+ years of experience of structural analysis including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis
– 1+ years of experience with project management, schedule, and budgeting

 
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
– Strong background in the design of mechanism, bolted and welded structures, assembly fixtures, alignment fixtures, test fixtures, rigging, and material handling
– Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals
– Design analysis experience with stiffness/strength, structural dynamics, weldments, and bolted structures.
– Experience designing tooling solutions for aerospace hardware
– Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials used in assembly tooling and rapid prototyping
– Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations
– Experience with NX 3D modeling package and Simcenter 3D FEA simulation.
– Laser tracking experience is a plus
– Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems (Lean, 55, Six Sigma, etc.) a plus
