Location: Remote (EST/CST preferred; 50% – 70% travel required)

Site Safety Manager

Description:
 Summary

• Lead construction safety and loss control activities across large-scale data center construction projects.
• Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to ensure safe execution of construction work.
• Partner with project teams, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive zero-incident safety performance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, insurance requirements, and Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) standards.
• Travel extensively (50–70% across the U.S.) to support multiple active construction sites while working remotely from the Eastern or Central time zones.

 
Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of construction safety experience in a dedicated safety role.
• Experience supporting large-scale construction projects, preferably mission-critical or data center environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards (critical disqualifier).
• Experience conducting:
• Risk assessments
• Incident investigations
• Root cause analysis
• Corrective action planning
• Experience with ground-up construction and greenfield developments.
• Experience implementing Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs.
• Experience working with contractors and cross-functional construction teams.
• Ability to travel 50–70% domestically.
• OSHA 500 Certification.
• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST certification (BCSP).

 
Nice-to-Have Skills

• Data center construction experience.
• Experience in Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) environments.
• Experience with retrofit projects in live mission-critical facilities.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in construction.
• Design-build / fast-track construction experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
