Site Loss Control Specialist – Construction Safety (Data Center Construction)
Description:
Summary
- Lead construction safety and loss control activities for data center projects in New Albany, OH.
- Ensure compliance with insurance (OCIP), EHS regulations, and construction safety standards across large-scale projects.
- Perform site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety reporting.
- Partner with contractors, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive a zero-incident safety culture.
- Analyze safety metrics (such as TCIR) to identify trends and improve jobsite performance.
- Support complex ground-up and mission-critical data center construction environments.
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years of construction safety experience in a dedicated safety role.
- Experience working within an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) environment.
- Insurance and claims management, including working with insurance partners.
- Construction risk assessments and incident investigations/root cause analysis.
- Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program implementation.
- Data analytics using safety metrics (e.g., TCIR and incident trend analysis).
- Experience supporting large construction sites (2,000+ workers) with strong onsite field presence.
- Ground-up construction experience.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to data center construction.
- Experience partnering with contractors and cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related field).
- CSP or CHST certification.
- OSHA 500 certification.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Data center construction experience (strongly preferred).
- Experience in airports, oil & gas, or pharmaceutical construction environments.
- Experience with major general contractors such as DPR, Turner, or Holder.
- Experience working in occupied/live mission-critical facilities.
- Experience navigating cross-functional relationships with facility owners and stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 30% within the state as needed.
