Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Frisco, TX (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 remote)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee laboratory operations and maintain quality management systems for a growing manufacturer in a highly regulated industry. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards, managing laboratory testing processes, supporting product certifications, leading internal audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in laboratory quality systems, regulatory compliance, and ISO standards who enjoys working cross-functionally in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management Systems

Manage and maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 17025 Laboratory Accreditation.

Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.

Coordinate external audits, supplier audits, and certification activities.

Maintain relationships with independent testing laboratories and regulatory agencies.
Laboratory Operations
-
Oversee daily laboratory operations.
-
Plan and coordinate testing schedules.
-
Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate corrective actions.
Testing & Product Certification
-
Perform and oversee mechanical, environmental, and optical product testing.

Certify laboratory test results.
-
Coordinate product certification activities with external laboratories.
-
Develop and review testing plans for new products.
-
Stay current with applicable testing standards and regulatory requirements.
Management Reviews & Compliance

Prepare management review reports.
-
Track quality objectives and action items.
-
Maintain documentation required for ISO compliance.

Support risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Internal Audits
-
Plan, conduct, and document internal audits.
-
Monitor corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Documentation & Record Management
-
Maintain quality procedures, work instructions, process documentation, and records.

Monitor KPIs and quality metrics.

Recommend and implement process improvements.
Product Quality
-
Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.

Manage nonconforming material processes.
-
Conduct Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT).

Maintain scrap and quality performance records.
Team Leadership

Supervise laboratory personnel.

Train employees on ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and quality procedures.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Collaborate with Engineering, Product Development, Purchasing, and Operations teams.
Required Qualifications
-
Associate degree in a scientific or technical field (experience may be substituted for education).

3+ years of experience in a laboratory, testing, or quality assurance environment.

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Experience with ISO 17025 laboratory standards preferred.

Experience conducting internal and external quality audits.

Knowledge of laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.

Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments.

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

Food, medical device, automotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
Physical Requirements
