Title: Mechanical Engineer III
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer III to support the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, calibration, and deployment of a compact validation platform for advanced display and backplane technologies. This role is highly hands-on and will involve precision mechanical and optomechanical design, rapid prototyping, manufacturing support, and close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Design mechanical fixtures, adapter plates, and complete validation platforms using 3D CAD tools.
- Develop full-platform CAD assemblies and integrate vendor-provided STEP models.
- Create and release fabrication drawings with appropriate GD&T and tolerancing.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and work directly with U.S. and APAC contract manufacturers.
- Support fabrication and manufacturing of custom mechanical components.
- Assemble, test, align, and calibrate precision mechanical systems.
- Coordinate procurement of hardware, packaging materials, and related components.
- Package and prepare completed platforms for deployment.
- Provide hands-on and cross-functional support during system integration and deployment.
- Deliver projects according to established schedules and technical milestones.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience designing hardware, optomechanical fixtures, or precision mechanical platforms.
- Hands-on experience building, testing, and calibrating precision mechanical assemblies.
- Strong experience with mechanical CAD and complex assembly modeling.
- Experience creating fabrication drawings using GD&T and engineering tolerancing.
- Hands-on DFM experience working with contract manufacturers and external vendors.
- Comfortable supporting physical assembly, procurement, logistics, and cross-functional engineering activities.
- Demonstrated experience taking hardware from design through fabrication, assembly, and validation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD and PLM systems used for engineering design and drawing release.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and precision instrumentation.
- Background in optomechanical systems, high-end microscopy, or precision positioning systems such as hexapods.
- Experience with thermal design and thermal management.
- Experience with vibration analysis.
- Knowledge of dust and humidity mitigation for precision hardware systems.
- Experience releasing fabrication drawings through PLM systems.
