Workday Student Test Lead
Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Workday Student Testing Lead to lead and coordinate testing activities as part of its Workday Student initiative. This individual will own the overall testing approach, help drive testing readiness, coordinate stakeholders and testers, manage defects, and ensure the university is prepared for successful deployment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience leading testing within a Workday Student implementation, understands higher education business processes, and can operate independently while partnering closely with functional, technical, and university teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall Workday Student testing strategy, planning, and execution
• Develop and maintain the testing plan, schedule, milestones, and testing governance
• Coordinate testing activities across Workday Student functional areas and integrations
• Facilitate test planning and readiness sessions with functional leads and business stakeholders
• Define testing standards, processes, templates, and entry/exit criteria
• Coordinate preparation and execution of applicable testing cycles, including:
  • End-to-End Testing
  • Integration Testing
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Regression Testing
• Ensure test scenarios adequately represent business processes and student lifecycle
• Work with functional teams and business users to develop and validate test scenarios and scripts
• Track testing progress, execution status, risks, issues, and dependencies
• Manage the defect lifecycle, including defect logging, triage, prioritization, assignment, retesting, and closure
• Facilitate regular testing status and defect-management meetings
• Provide clear testing metrics and status reporting to project leadership
• Identify testing risks and escalate issues that could impact project milestones or deployment readiness
• Partner with Workday functional, integration, data, and project management teams to resolve testing issues
• Support go-live readiness and ensure critical business processes have been thoroughly validated

Required Experience

• Previous experience serving as a Testing Lead on a Workday implementation
• Strong Workday Student experience
• Experience supporting Workday testing across complex, cross-functional business processes
• Experience developing testing strategies, plans, scenarios, and execution processes
• Strong knowledge of defect management and testing governance
• Ability to coordinate business users, functional consultants, and technical resources
• Strong project organization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to independently drive testing activities and hold teams accountable to deadlines
