Skillset / Experience:

INSPYR Solutions is seeking an experienced Wireless Communications Service Technician to join our client's team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is responsible for installing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting two-way radio and wireless communications systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong electronics background, hands-on RF experience, and the ability to deliver exceptional technical service and support to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair two-way radio and wireless communications equipment, including Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, and Vertex systems.

• Program radio codeplugs, including multi-channel, trunking, and multi-zone configurations.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz radio systems, base stations, repeaters, and related communications infrastructure.

• Install and service Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Bidirectional Amplifier (BDA) systems, dispatch consoles, and wireless broadband equipment.

• Utilize RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters.

• Troubleshoot RF coverage, signal propagation, and system performance issues.

• Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

• Recommend appropriate equipment and technical solutions based on customer requirements.

• Provide on-site technical support and customer service.

• Participate in regional travel, overnight assignments, and on-call rotations as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience installing, diagnosing, repairing, and programming two-way radio or wireless communications equipment; relevant military experience will also be considered.

• Strong understanding of two-way radio technology, RF theory, and signal propagation.

• Hands-on experience with Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex, or similar communications equipment.

• Experience troubleshooting base stations, repeaters, duplexers, multicouplers, and battery backup systems.

• Proficiency using RF testing and diagnostic equipment.

• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and basic network configuration.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable background screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or a related technical discipline.

• Experience installing and troubleshooting DAS/BDA systems.

• Motorola Astro 25 or MotoTRBO systems experience.

• Familiarity with Capacity Plus, Connect Plus, IP Site Connect, or Capacity Max.

• R56 Certified Installer.

• CET Certification or equivalent electronics certification.

• Experience with public safety communications systems.
