Database Analyst  – Long Term Project – Remote (US)

Title: Database Analyst 
Location: 100% remote
Duration: to at least 06/30/2027 (with possible extensions)
Compensation: $40.00 – $49.00/hour
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Project Overview
Our Goverment client (Courts related) is seeking an experienced SQL Database Analyst to provide technical support for statewide judicial applications, database systems, data integrations, and reporting initiatives. The analyst will work with application, data warehouse, and technical teams to analyze, extract, validate, and troubleshoot data across multiple systems. This position will also support system modernization, including data migration, integration testing, and reporting associated with the statewide case management system.

Key Responsibilities
SQL Development and Data Analysis

• Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and scripts.
• Analyze relational database structures and relationships among tables and data elements.
• Extract, transform, and validate data; troubleshoot discrepancies and database-related application issues.
• Assist with database documentation, data mapping, and technical specifications.

Data Migration and System Integration

• Support data conversion and migration between legacy and modernized case management systems.
• Develop SQL scripts to identify, correct, and validate data discrepancies before and after migration.
• Reconcile converted data for accuracy and completeness; investigate data exchanged through external interfaces.
• Coordinate with application analysts, vendors, and technical teams to resolve data-related defects.

Reporting and Business Intelligence

• Develop SQL queries and datasets for operational reports and business intelligence.
• Prepare data for Power BI and other reporting tools, and validate results against source systems.
• Translate stakeholder reporting requirements into accurate data outputs.

Technical Support and Documentation

• Investigate database-related issues affecting application functionality and data accuracy.
• Document queries, data structures, troubleshooting procedures, and solutions.
• Recommend data-quality and performance improvements; follow information security, privacy, and access-control requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Three or more years of professional experience with SQL and relational database systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including complex joins, stored procedures, views, and data manipulation scripts.
• Experience with large datasets, data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Understanding of relational database design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, translate business requirements into SQL solutions, and communicate findings clearly.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise case management systems or large transactional applications.
• Data migration or legacy system modernization experience.
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Power BI, data warehousing, or reporting solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting application integrations and data interfaces and working with software vendors.
• Familiarity with judicial, criminal justice, or government information systems and handling sensitive data.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and database security best practices.

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on SQL professional who can independently investigate complex data issues, write and troubleshoot queries, communicate findings clearly, and collaborate across teams to support data accuracy, system reliability, and modernization initiatives.

OTHER: 
Must be able to pass our client's Criminal background check before starting work. 
100% remote work, but you must be willing & able to work core Pacific Time zone hours.
