Role Summary
We're hiring a Project Director or Project Manager to lead ground-up delivery of our Midwest data center campuses. The site will be a 50+ MW Data Center in the Canton, OH area.  You'll lead general contractors, MEP trades, utilities, equipment vendors, and design teams from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover. You'll own schedule, budget, safety, and quality, and make sure each facility is delivered on time, on budget, and to hyperscale standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-lifecycle, ground-up delivery of data center campuses: site development, shell and core, MEP fit-out, and commissioning through turnover.
  • Represent the owner in managing general contractors and trade partners, holding them to schedule, cost, quality, and safety commitments.
  • Own the master project schedule. Drive critical-path planning, look-ahead schedules, and recovery plans.
  • Manage project budgets, cost reporting, change orders, and forecasting. Report to executive leadership.
  • Manage procurement and delivery of long-lead equipment: generators, switchgear, UPS, transformers, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and liquid cooling systems.
  • Coordinate with utilities on power delivery, substations, interconnection, and energization timelines.
  • Oversee design reviews, RFIs, submittals, and constructability reviews with architects and engineers.
  • Drive Level 1–5 commissioning with Commissioning Agents, through integrated systems testing (IST) and handover to operations.
  • Enforce a safety-first culture and compliance with OSHA, local codes, and permitting requirements.
  • Manage quality control and punch lists, and get closeout documentation done.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tenant and hyperscaler stakeholders. Run project meetings and status reporting.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, including supply chain, labor, power availability, and schedule compression.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in construction project management, with at least 5 years delivering data center or mission-critical projects
  • Proven ground-up delivery of data center builds of 50 MW+ (hyperscale or colocation)
  • Experience managing GCs and trade partners on projects of $100-250M+
  • Strong working knowledge of data center MEP systems: medium and low voltage electrical, generators, UPS, cooling, and BMS/EPMS
  • Expertise in scheduling (Primavera P6 or MS Project) and cost control
  • Experience with Level 1–5 commissioning and IST
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70/70E, local building codes, and permitting
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Must live near one of the three sites or be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a data center developer or a GC that builds data centers
  • Hyperscale or AI/high-density data center experience, including liquid cooling or direct-to-chip
  • Utility coordination and substation or interconnection experience
  • Experience on campus-scale (multi-building) or fast-track design-build programs
  • PMP, CCM, or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms
