Assistant Controller

Compensation: $130,000–$140,000 + Bonus

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join a lean accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, working alongside the team, and partnering with leadership across the organization. The Assistant Controller will support all accounting operations, supervise the AP and AR teams, assist with month-end close and financial reporting, and play a key role in an upcoming Epicor ERP implementation. This position offers future growth into overseeing additional accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Supervise the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams while remaining hands-on.
• Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, and ERP implementation initiatives.
• Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial analysis and business support.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Experience supervising AP and AR teams.
• Epicor ERP experience strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Experience in a small or mid-sized company where you've worn multiple hats.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
