Duration: Permanent Hire

Compensation: $180,000 to $200,000

We are seeking a seasoned Controller with strong experience in the energy industry to lead key accounting functions within a complex operating environment. This role requires a hands-on leader who will actively engage in day-to-day accounting operations while mentoring and developing a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee core accounting functions including revenue, accounts payable, and partner-related billing activities

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes

• Provide hands-on leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and developing accounting staff

• Remain actively involved in daily accounting operations; this is not a purely oversight role

• Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes, controls, and reporting

• Partner cross-functionally with operations and finance leadership teams

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies

• Support financial reporting and operational decision-making

Requirements

• 10+ years of accounting experience within the energy or natural resources sector

• Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller preferred

• Strong experience working within ERP-driven accounting environments

• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams

• Strong understanding of revenue accounting and cost allocation methodologies

• Industry experience required (not solely public accounting)

• CPA preferred but not required
