Azure IoT Architect

Title:  Azure IoT Architect 
Location: Houston, TX 77046 (hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote) 
Duration: Long Term Contract 
Compensation: $120/hr. – $140/hr. 
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Job Description:

• Proven experience as an IoT Architect with a focus on Azure solutions.
• Experience with hosting and running custom Python code on purpose built edge hardware
• In-depth knowledge of Azure IoT services, including IoT Hub, Azure Functions, Azure IoT Edge, and related components.
• Programming – JSON, Angular, .NET Core, C#, Python, VS Code
• Database – SQL, MS Azure Blob Storage, MS Synapse, OSI PI Historian
• Cloud IoT – Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core and related cloud services. Terraform is a plus.
• IoT Technologies – Docker, MQTT, AMQP
• Web development – Experience in UI/UX practices, Web API Services, Security Principles
• Automation – Automation Protocols (Modbus, EthernetIP), OPC, PLC's, instrumentation
• Strong understanding of communication protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, Modbus, MQTT, DNP3, etc.
• Ability to quickly evaluate and determine the validity and applicability of new IoT technologies.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies
• Strong customer engagement skills.
• Ability to translate user needs with the vision on how to develop and scale a solution.
• Highly innovative and outside the box thinker.
• Self-driven, can work independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Azure IoT certification or relevant Microsoft certifications.
• Experience with Azure IoT Central for managing IoT devices at scale.
• Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning for IoT applications.
