Title: Program Manager

Location: Remote, CA 

Duration: 6 months 

Compensation: $67 – $87/hr

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Risk Manager to support product-facing compliance initiatives with a strong focus on privacy, employment compliance, and data protection. This role requires a highly analytical professional who can partner closely with technical teams, assess complex risk landscapes, and influence product development through compliance-by-design principles.

This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role requiring strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive workflows with precision and urgency.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment & Analysis

• Conduct deep-dive risk assessments across privacy and employment compliance initiatives
• Evaluate complex compliance risks tied to product and infrastructure initiatives
• Develop structured analyses and recommendations to mitigate operational and regulatory risk

Framework Implementation

• Apply and maintain rigorous risk management frameworks
• Ensure adherence to evolving compliance and data protection standards
• Support scalable compliance processes and governance models

Technical & Product Collaboration

• Partner with technical and cross-functional teams to understand:
  • Infrastructure architecture
  • Data processing workflows
  • Product development lifecycle
• Assess technical and operational risk implications tied to product functionality and data usage

Data Review & Compliance Operations

• Support high-intensity people data review workflows
• Operate with a no-fail mindset emphasizing speed, precision, and accuracy
• Maintain strong documentation and audit readiness practices

Compliance by Design

• Influence product development through proactive compliance integration
• Help ensure long-term alignment with global privacy and protection standards
• Advocate for risk-aware decision-making across teams

Required Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

1. Risk & Compliance Expertise
   • 10+ years of professional experience in:
     • Risk assessment
     • Assurance
     • Compliance management
2. Privacy & Data Protection Knowledge
   • Strong expertise in:
     • Privacy compliance
     • Employment compliance
     • Data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
3. Technical Literacy
   • Strong understanding of:
     • Infrastructure systems
     • Data processing concepts
     • Technical product environments
4. Analytical Rigor
   • Exceptional structured thinking and problem-solving ability
   • Ability to perform precise risk analysis in fast-moving environments
5. Ownership & Reliability
   • Proven track record of accountability and independent ownership
   • High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive workstreams

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Experience supporting product-facing compliance initiatives
• Experience operating in large-scale, fast-paced technology environments
• Familiarity with global privacy and employment regulations
