Compensation: 

$82 – $102/hr

QA/QC Program Engineer V

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA/QC Program Engineer to support large-scale, mission-critical construction projects across multiple Texas locations. This role will focus on developing, monitoring, and improving quality programs for complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC program metrics to evaluate project performance.
  • Analyze quality trends, identify root causes, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Support and guide onsite construction QA/QC teams.
  • Develop and improve QA/QC processes, standards, checklists, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Serve as a key interface between design, construction, facility operations, general contractors, vendors, and commissioning teams.
  • Audit QA/QC activities performed by staff, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Review MEP submittals, technical deliverables, test procedures, construction quality procedures, and commissioning documentation.
  • Support quality reviews of design documentation, vendor quality manuals, and project quality records.
  • Review and provide feedback on Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning scripts.
  • Assist construction managers with turnover documentation, energization schedules, startup schedules, and commissioning schedules.
  • Track and drive closure of open quality issues using BIM360 or similar construction quality platforms.
  • Attend factory witness tests as needed for owner-furnished and contractor-furnished equipment and systems.
  • Perform onsite inspections and observations for construction quality control.
  • Support review of installed labeling, signage, equipment tagging, and testing documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings, QA/QC meetings, MEP/OAC meetings, startup meetings, and commissioning meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in QA/QC programs for data center, mission-critical, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and commissioning processes.
  • Experience supporting or leading QA/QC and commissioning programs.
  • Experience with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction delivery models.
  • Experience working across civil/structural, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and I&C disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of mission-critical power, cooling infrastructure, or other critical building systems.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to create, track, and report quality metrics for project health and performance.
  • Prior experience using construction quality management tools such as BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to address quality misalignments professionally and directly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or related technical background.
  • Experience building QA/QC programs from the ground up.
  • Strong vendor management experience.
  • Experience leading or coaching QA/QC teams.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple active projects.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable making decisions with limited direction.
  • Experience supporting large, multi-phase data center construction programs.
